Bremshey Treadline Scout Treadmill
To be honest though, this running machine is feature packed for it’s price. You certainly get decent “bang for buck” feature wise.
First off, the motor is a healthily sized 2.2HP which powered the running area very comfortably. The treadmill is rated to take a runner up to 300llb which is usually out of scope for a treadmill in this price bracket. The deck is also cushioned, which is basically to reduce impact injuries to the joints. The Scout does feel pretty comfortable to run on.
The top speed and incline on the Bremshey Scout will be more than acceptable to most runners. The 2.2HP motor can push this treadmill up to a top speed of 10mph (approximately 16kph), whilst the motorised incline can elevate the machine upto a 10% gradient level.
The computer console give you the usual feedback you’d expect, such as time ran, distance travelled and calories burned. The console also had seven in-built programmes and although we’d have liked more, it seems a little churlish to say this with all the other features that the machine has. There are also some hot-keys built into the console to help you quickly set the speed or the incline of the machine.
A couple of features really stand out on this model. One is the addition of the Heart-rate controlled programme, which slows and quickens the treadmill automatically so you achieve a maximised workout session. The other is the fact that the machine has an inbuilt receiver so you can use a wireless heart-rate monitor. The Scout also has the ubiquitous hand sensors to monitor heart rate if you wish to use those instead.
As always the warranty is of key importance on any treadmill. As you can imagine treadmills aren’t the easiest things to transport around if they go wrong, so home repair is an important feature. The Bremshey Scout has a pretty good warranty (better than Bowflex, not quite as good as Horizon’s). The machines frame and motor are covered for a lengthy 15 years and the machine also has two years parts and labour cover.
In summary, the Bremshey Scout treadmill is a good solid machine that has features you’d expect on a much more expensive machine. The Scout has all the features that a beginner would require.
