Reebok T3.1 Performance Series Folding Treadmill
The Reebok T3.1 folding treadmill is the entry level machine in the Performance Series range of treadmills that also includes Reebok’s T5.1 and T7.5 running machines. It’s fair to say that this treadmill is a big step-up in terms of features when compared to Reebok’s i-run, the entry level machine from this manufacturer.
The standard features of the T3.1 are pretty good. This Reebok running machine has a 2.0HP motor that allows the machine to push a runner weighing up to 130kg (over 20 stones) to a top speed of 16km/h (approximately 10mph). With an maximum elevated position of 12%, this is a machine that will be suitable for most runners regardless of their fitness level.
The running deck is generously sized, with dimensions of 45cm wide and 130cm long. The T3.1 uses an interesting cushioning system called the “Swing Arm Suspension System”. This patented technology acts similar to a shock absorber on a motorbike and is designed to reduce double impact shocks you get with some treadmills.
The console on this Reebok model is feature packed. You can store user data for up to nine different runner, which is plenty for all but the biggest households. There are a number of exercise programmes to help vary your routine so as to ensure boredom doesn’t set in. These include a manual programme where you set the machines speed, incline and distance and run to your hearts content. More interesting are the interval speed and interval incline programmers. These programmes ramp up the speed or incline of the machine during the workout. The console also has HRC (Heart Rate Controlled) programmes, where you can set your age, gender and weight and the treadmill will aim to work you at a pace that suits your fitness level.
Most important when using a HRC programme is getting a really accurate heart-rate. The T3.1 has the ability to measure your heart-rate by grasping the pulse sensors built into the treadmill’s hand rail. Better still, buy yourself a chest strap that can wirelessly transmit your heart-rate to the machine and make use of the T3.1’s built in polar receiver. Not only does this free up the hands for easier running, it also gives a more accurate heart-rate measurement.
Moving the machine around proved quite simple. When you fold the machine, it’s transport wheels come into action so you can push the machine around more easily.
The machine is covered by Reebok’s standard guarantee where an on-site parts and labour warranty covers the machine if it breaks down in your home for a total of two years. In addition to this, the motor is covered for ten years, with the frame covered for the lifetime of the treadmill.
