Reebok T7.5 Treadmill Review
You’d expect a treadmill in this price bracket to have a cushioned running deck, Reebok have catchily called theirs the “ICS Intelligent Cushion System”. Reebok claim that they have analysed all the dampening data they have to ensure a smooth run, avoiding reverb from the belt which can result in double impact in the knees and hips.
With cheaper folding models, it always seems a chore putting the treadmill in the running position. Unfortunately this just gives you another excuse not to get the machine out. On the T7.5, Reebok have added what they call the “Transformer Technology” system. This works by dropping the treadmill into the running position smoothly without damaging the floor or the machine.
The T7.5 is certainly powerful enough for full-speed running The 2.5 HP motor will let you set the speed of the machine to a respectable 18 km/h (approximately 11 mph). The running belt is pretty generously sized at 50 x 150cm, so you should feel you have ample room when running at full speed. This Reebok treadmill is capable of pulling a person up to 150KG on fifteen different incline levels. Personally I’d have liked to see an extra 0.25HP on the motor.
As far as the computer console goes, the T7.5 has a large LED screen that displays the usual information such as distance travelled, current speed, calories burnt and current heart rate. You also have the option of storing exercise data for up to nine runners, so the whole family can have their own profile. The console has built in a huge thirty six programs that should keep even the most restless exerciser interested. Two of the programs are also heart rate controlled, where the T7.5 will alter the speed/incline of the machine as necessary. For measuring your heart rate, you can use the hand-sensors at the front of the machine. These are usually awkward to use when running at speed, so I’d suggest getting hold of a wireless chest strap for monitoring your heart-rate. You do not get one with the T7.5, but it does have a wireless receiver built in.
The warranty length is pretty standard on this machine, and compares favourably with other Reebok treadmills. The T7.5 has 2 years parts and labour warranty where a Reebok rep will come and repair the machine in your home, 10 years motor and lifetime frame.
