York T301 Folding Treadmill

We’re now getting to the business end of the York folding treadmill range, with the T3 range dubbed as the ‘Diamond’ class of running machines. The York T301 Diamond treadmill certainly has features that you’d expect from a running machine in a professional range of home exercise equipment.

This treadmill is designed for a varied and high intensity running programs. The York T301 has a speed rating of 0.8 up to 18kph (that’s approximately 11mph). You get an extra 2% incline over the T201/T202 treadmills, with the T301 being able to set it’s motorised incline from 0% all the way up to 12%. The motor on the machine is 2.5HP continuous with upto 5HP at peak. This gives the machine the ability to operate with a runner up to 150Kg, even when the machine is set at the fairly steep 12%. If you’re going to be doing intensive running you’ll be pleased to know that the T301 treadmill has a cushioned running deck, where the cushioning can be modified to make your running regime more comfortable. York claim this system reduces “impact on to the joints by up to 300% versus road running”. The running area is a fairly large 142cm x 51cm which is an import feature, especially when running at top speed, or when the incline is set to a steep setting.

As with the T2 range, the T301 Diamond treadmill also sports the Heart Rate Controlled feature. You can monitor your pulse rate on this machine either via the handlebar sensors. The T301 treadmill also has an in-built pulse-rate sensor, so you could use a chest-strap to more accurately keep tabs on your pulse-rate.

The computerised console is made up of one easy-to-read back-lit in addition to the three LED screens that precisely feedback Time, Speed, Distance, Calories, Pulse and current incline. With 20 in-built programs you have plenty of variety to ensure you remained motivated during your workout. If you enjoy listening to music whilst exercising, the in-built speakers and mp3 input are a welcome addition.

The warranty is a step above the lesser models in the York range, with the motor having a full ten years cover, with the rest of the treadmill being covered for up to three years.
